European Union:
Contans®WG BioAct®
The European Union has decided in Directive 2003/79/EEC dated 13/08/2003, to include the active ingredient of Contans®WG, Coniothyrium minitans to Annex I of Council Directive  91/414/EEC on 01/01/2004.

This decision enables an application for full registration of Contans®WG in all member states of the European Union.
All existing provisional registrations can now be transformed into full registrations.
The European Union has decided in Directive 2008/44/EEC dated 04/04/2003, to include the active ingredient of BioAct®WG, Paecilomyces lilacinus to Annex I of Council Directive  91/414/EEC.

This decision enables an application for full registration of BioAct® in all member states of the European Union.
All existing provisional registrations can now be transformed into full registrations.

Patent Protection:
Contans®WG German Patent (DE 19502065 A1, December 7, 1995) and United States Patent (5,766583, June 16, 1998) have been awarded for use of the strain of Coniothyrium minitans, CON/M/91-08, as a biological control agent against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. PCT application (DE95/00926) was filed covering Europe and Canada.
For the technology, used for the solid state fermentation, the Patent PCT-Number DE99/01271 (International Publishing-number: WO99/57239) has been awarded.
