PROPHYTA, founded in 1992, develops, produces and markets biological plant protection products. The products are primarily preparations based on living micro-organisms.
Thanks to the intensive research work and innovative developments of its highly qualified and experienced staff, PROPHYTA has developed Germany's first biological fungicide, Contans^®WG. The managing director Dr. Peter Lüth was honored for the development and production of biological pesticides with the "Deutscher Umweltpreis" Award 2002.

The technology, which was developed for the production of Contans^®WG can be used for further biological agents after the same method or potentially for precursor products for e.g. the food- or pharmaceutical industry.

Third party companies can profit from the PROPHYTA^®-technology and expertise in fermentation process development by assigning commissioned research, production or formulation services for their identified fungal agents.

PROPHYTA is a participant in several research projects funded by the local, national and European governments. In principal the aim of these research projects is to develop ecologically sound plant-protection agents by using micro-organisms.
